On July 19th around 1:00 am a massive technology outage has swept across the globe, causing widespread disruptions to essential services and industries. Airlines, banks, hospitals, and media outlets are among the sectors experiencing significant impacts.

Major airlines like American Airlines and Delta have reported service interruptions, leading to flight delays and cancellations. FlightAware.com reported 25,536 delays and 2,561 cancellations of domestic and international flights. Banking systems have also been knocked offline, affecting financial institutions worldwide and hindering transactions.
The hospitality industry is also feeling the effects, with hotels and restaurants struggling to process payments and manage reservations.
Many news outlets are facing challenges broadcasting, highlighting the problems caused by the outage.
It is reported that the issue is related to CrowdStrike, a defect was found during an update for Windows hosts only, Mac and Linux are not affected. As of now the full extent of the disruption is unknown. Microsoft posted that they are actively working to resolve the issues. Microsoft 365 has reported progress in addressing the matter and improving service availability.
