Barcelona in a Blink: A Two-Day Itinerary

Hola from Barcelona! A city of rich culture, stunning architecture, and endless mouth-watering cuisines. There’s so much to do and see in just 48 hours so let’s get right to it!

Sagrada Familia: A Glimpse into Gaudí’s Masterpiece

We began our day having breakfast at our accommodation before heading to the iconic Sagrada Familia. This basilica has been under construction for over a century, it is a testament to the genius of Antoni Gaudí. We were captivated by its towering spires, intricate facades, and mesmerizing stained glass windows, a true masterpiece.

A Green Break at Jardins Sagrada Familia

Barcelona,

Just a short walk from the Sagrada Familia, we came across the Jardins Sagrada Familia. A perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the surrounding Gaudí’s outstanding work.

Embracing Nature and Art at Park Güell

What’s a trip to Barcelona without visiting Park Güell? Another Gaudí gem, which is just as stunning as his other work, with its unique designs and fantastic views of the city. As we strolled through the  colorful mosaics and stone structures, it felt as if we stepped into a fairy tale.

Shop Til You Drop!

We did indulge in a little shopping spree (because why not)? The local boutiques offered a plethora of unique finds, from stylish apparel to quirky souvenirs.

Culinary Divine!

Barcelona’s culinary scene is nothing short of divine. From flavorsome tapas to creamy churros, our taste buds were on a constant journey of discovery. (Pro-tip: Always say yes to Paella!) We still dream about the flavors and can’t wait to recreate some dishes at home.

Port Vell: A Harbor of Delights

Our feet then led us to Barcelona’s vibrant harbor marina, Port Vell. Full with attractions, we were spoilt for choice:

  • Barcelona Aquarium: A deep dive into marine life.
  • Maritime Museums: Step back in time, celebrating Barcelona’s rich naval history.
  • Columbus Monument: Standing at an impressive height of 60 meters (197 feet), this monument was erected in celebration of the Exposición Universal de Barcelona in 1888. It commemorates Columbus’s pioneering journey to the Americas.
  • Maremagnum: A shopping haven right by the sea.

And if you’re game for some active exploration, Port Vell offers walking, biking, Segway, and boat tours!

A Bittersweet Goodbye

All good things must come to an end. Although two days seemed short, our hearts brimmed with fond memories as we bid adiós to Barcelona. If you’re planning a visit, be ready for a roller coaster of experiences, all wrapped up in the warmth of Spanish hospitality.
